Lean UX: how to apply it to your business or practice

Posted on 8th November 2016 by Richard Duddy

Hot on the heels of the rather lively/provocative session on Agile Project Management in Practice, we’ll be delving into the practice of Lean UX.

And who better to deliver the session than experts who you might find speaking at events across the country on this very subject in question:

• Jason Bootle – @mrbootle
Talk overview: “This talk/Q&A is about Lean and about UX (User Experience) and what you get when you mix the two. Ideally you’ll walk away inspired wanting to conquer the world but mostly you’ll have a better idea of how you can apply Lean UX within your business or practice.”

Bio – Jason Bootle designs products and services.
He believes in collaboration, continuous learning and committing time for reflection. He mentors startups and business on agile and lean methods and how to improve their business through customer centric design.

Through his design agency and consultancy, Pop Gun UK; he has worked with The Telegraph, Bank of America and various startups including Captured, a collaborative learning platform for coaching relationships and skill-building communities with Sir Clive Woodward.

He is currently designing services for Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service at the Ministry of Justice.

• Spencer Turner – @spencerturner

Talk overview: “In this talk / Q&A I’ll try to answer the question “What does it mean to create and run effective Lean UX teams?” from my perspective, which is more about culture and approach than it is about specific practices.”

Bio – Spencer is a consultant, coach and mentor in lean UX & agile UX, speaker, ex-designer, occasional programmer and ardent proponent of visual communication.

At Cultivate, he works at the intersection of product management, design and development to help teams make great digital products. He believes a user focused approach, iteration, lean experiments, good metrics and honesty are the way to deliver successful and engaging digital products.
